Youngkin, Sears and Miyares: The Last Hurrah?

The Party is Over: Virginia is as Blue as California.

RICHMOND, VA — Tonight’s Rally for Trump in Richmond, VA, at the historic Jefferson Hotel, was a sparsely attended event at $200 per head, and cash bar.

And no matter how hard Youngkin tried, his heart didn’t seem all that in to it, knowing perhaps that he was, like Biden, at the end of the road.

Sears too gave halfhearted support for Trump, doing what she never ever intended—playing nice to Trump after so many years dismissing him.

Sadly, Attorney General Miyares is caught in the middle of the outgoing governor, and the black Lt. Gov. who is “next in line to be governor” based on pecking order—certainly not based on political acumen. Hopes for a second term as AG are at grave risk with Sears on top of the ticket, and so to is his political future.

Also attempting to change their tune were Republicans Rep. Rob Whitman and Rep. Jen Kiggans, both advocates of more Ukraine War Spending, more Military Industrial Complex, and more Deep State and more Black Budgets. Their usefulness in a new Congress that is intent on shrinking government, dealing with Lawfare, the Deep State, Immigration, the Debt, Inflation and Crime will be tested.

Suzanne Youngkin, AG Jason Miyares, Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears, and Gov. Glenn Youngkin

Speaker Mike Johnson may need to reassign Whitman-Kiggans as he did Deep State-Military Industrial Complex-Bomb Everyone Ohio Rep. Mike Turner, moving him off of the Intelligence Committee to the praise of the Trump wing, myself included. Rep. Turner, Sen. Graham, and others, like Whitman and Kiggans, are exactly what is wrong with American foreign policy—giving rise to the moniker, “The Ugly American.” But that doesn’t really do it justice. The Dangerous American is more on point.

Bottom line: the current Virginia GOP is completely out of step with Trump, most elected R’s in Virginia don’t like him or his America First policies centered on manufacturing and trade, not war. Out of step with Trump = out of step with the People. Not good prospects for the Commonwealth’s GOP.
